Ever watched someone pour a perfect beer and think I would like to do that, well you can. CRC has a full working bar with taps and post mixes to give you the confidence and knowledge that you require prior to entering the workforce.

If you are thinking of getting into the exciting industry of hospitality, this course has been designed to ensure the most current accreditation and up-to-date multiskilling techniques are available to maximize your employment options. In addition to providing the participant with strong practical operational skills, excellent product knowledge, and the confidence to work effectively in a licensed bar, this course also offers work experience at the award winning Currumbin RSL, allowing you to expand your horizons and enhance your skills and move forward with your career in hospitality.

CLASS STARTS 9AM SHARP – Please arrive about 15 minutes prior to class starting as late arrivals may not be allowed to enter

Topics covered during the course

BAR
SITHFAB009A RSA (accredited) • Prepare a bar for service • Take drink orders • Prepare and service drinks • Opening & Close down bar operations • Role Plays • Follow Hygiene Procedures • Identify and prevent hygiene risks • Clean bar and equipment • Clean and maintain public areas

Black and white industry clothing is required throughout the course and for work experience. Casual clothes can be worn the RSA day.

This course includes the Liquor Licensed Approved RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)

CHANGE OF FORMAT FOR COURSE

The Bar and Gaming Course will still run from Monday to Friday however it will now be in a new format. We have blended the course so throughout the day the student will feel they are learning all aspects of a bar & gaming machine attendant as they would on the job. This way the student will have a more balanced approach at what they are learning with theory and practical skills that are more relevant to industry trends and needs. So from the 20th September onwards the course will be purchased as a whole package not as individual courses.

Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Identify customers to whom service may be refused
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages responsibly
  • Assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
  • Assist alcohol affected customers

Work experience at the Currumbin RSL is included as part of the course normally done the following week/s
